Apple is currently valued at 2.4 trillion market cap and yet considered undervalued by majority of the analysts. And you would be surprised to know that Apple is about to disrupt another trillion dollar industry that can increase its market cap to 5 trillion in next 2 to 3 years…. don’t believe me? Than listen carefully since its initial launch, more than 1.9 billion iPhones have been sold and currently there are 1 billion iphones in active usage… iPhones have between 50 to 60% share of smartphone sales in the US alone.
Approximately 113 to 195 million people in USA actively use apple iphones on day to day basis…. Now apple is launching a buy now pay later service for its Iphone users and that too at zero interest rate if installments are for shorter duration…. if users chose longer duration installments than apple will be charging some percentage of interest on the amount…
The Apple Pay Later scheme can prove to be a very beneficial strategic move for the company. As per the reports of PYMNTS indicate that around 81 percent of Apple pay users are employed, 45 percent are college educated, millennials with average age of 36 are 46 percent and people who are earning more than 100000 dollars annually are around 49 percent. Greater than half of these have connected their credit cards in with their Apple Pay wallets.
This could help to study the response of users about “Pay later” in a better way. As per an estimate, the minimum number of Iphone users in US alone is around 113 million. Considering such a huge market, if Apple Pay later becomes popular which it seems to be, the company can reach new highs. Imagine 100 million plus population in US getting access to buy now pay later services with zero to very little interest rates and get to chose the time period of the installments.
